Joy
WE VALUE — JOY
“The sparkle in the eye that says, ‘I want to be with you.’ Ahhh… Exhale!”
WHAT WE BELIEVE
Joy is the natural response of a heart that has heard, and believed, the good news of Jesus Christ. It wells up from the gospel and grows as the fruit of the Spirit within us.
Because the gospel never changes, the ground of our joy never changes either. It holds in the ordinary Tuesday and in the hard season. It holds because it is anchored in what Jesus has done and in how deeply He delights in His people.
HOW WE BEHAVE
We bring our honest selves, and we make space for lament, because the psalms do too. We preach the gospel back to our own hearts and each other's, and we watch what happens when good news lands.
We celebrate freely: each other's wins, each other's breakthroughs, each other's "finally, I see it" moments with the gospel. We let the good news be actually good. We exhale together. Ahhh…
We hold the gospel as both the most serious news and the best news, with reverence and with lightness all at once.
OUR COMMITMENT
At Unpolished Press, every resource is built to help women rejoice in Jesus. Like the psalms, there is room here for every key: the bright notes of celebration and the minor chords of lament. In every season we sing the gospel back to one another, the good news that holds our joy steady.
WE WANT EVERYONE TO FEEL
Delight — a lightness that isn’t denial — because the news really is this good.
Free — like the pressure to perform has lifted… because it has. Jesus already did the heavy lifting.
Hope — not wishful thinking, but a settled confidence in what Jesus has done and who He is.
ANCHORING SCRIPTURES
Psalm 44:3 — "For not by their own sword did they win the land, nor did their own arm save them, but your right hand and your arm, and the light of your face, for you delighted in them."
Our joy is rooted in God's delight in His people, a delight we receive and know fully in Christ.
Nehemiah 8:10 — "The joy of the LORD is your strength."
Joy is a resource God gives us, and it sustains us in the work, even when we have little left of our own.
John 15:11 — "These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full."
Jesus desires that we share in His own joy, the fruit of abiding in Him and a central part of life with Him.
