Jesus

WE VALUE  —  JESUS

“All our work sings of Him.”

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Jesus is not a topic we cover — He is the song we cannot stop singing. We believe that seeing Jesus clearly is everything: If we have seen him, we have seen the Father (John 14:9). He is The Word made flesh, the only one by which we can be saved, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, our loving elder brother, our Good Shepherd who laid down his life for the sheep, our Good News in human form….no amount of metaphors nor all his names can fully portray his beauty and glory!

HOW WE BEHAVE

We speak of Jesus with wonder. We build every resource on the gospel and the word of God. As those found in Christ we seek to live as Christ. Thankfully, he has given us his Spirit to aid us and to invite us to repent and repair with God and others when we live and love poorly.

And when our hearts grow cold or forgetful, as they will, we come back to the Word and look again. Remembering together, that our even our coldness or forgetfulness cannot separate us from the love of God in Christ!

OUR COMMITMENT
Unpolished Press creates resources that center on the person and work of Jesus Christ. We won’t intentionally be unpolished, we simply want Jesus to be the shine. We keep theological substance first, and we hold each other accountable to that standard.

WE WANT EVERYONE TO FEEL

Seen & Invited — like Someone who knows you fully loves you fully — and that’s the One who called you here. Ahhh…no need to hide…come, be seen and loved!

Grounded — anchored in something that doesn’t shift with the season or the news cycle. For Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and always..

Astonished — that the gospel is this good, this beautiful, this real — every single time.

ANCHORING SCRIPTURES

John 1:14  —  "The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth." Jesus is not abstract; He is tangible, visible, and glorious.

Echoes of the truth that Jesus is glorious…

  1. Hebrews 1:3: "He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature."

  2. 2 Corinthians 4:6: God has shone in our hearts "to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ."

  3. 2 Corinthians 3:18: We "beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another."

  4. Titus 2:13: We wait for "the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ."

  5. Revelation 5:12: "Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!"

  6. Revelation 21:23: The garden-city has no need of sun or moon, "for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb."

Colossians 1:15–17  —  "He is the image of the invisible God." This passage grounds our belief that seeing Jesus means seeing the Father —oh and when we do…we will see his smile and sparkling eyes for they have finished the work to make us their forever family!

Hebrews 12:2  —  "Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith." This verse sets the posture of Unpolished Press: eyes fixed on Him, not on our own performance or polish.

The song we can’t stop singing; the sight we can’t stop beholding; the news we can’t stop telling; the WORD we long to hear… so we will say, sing, and scribble to our own hearts and to the hearts of others…Jesus…again and again…
